Some folks think that creating a Business Vision and Mission Statement is a waste of time. But, Imagine the difference between someone that goes into a grocery store with no plan, and a person that has a detailed itemized list of what they want that matches their food plan for the week. Person number one buys, well, whatever. Person number two came in with a plan that matches their budget, their recipe requirements, and their health plan. While both people leave with groceries, only the second person has aligned the experience with what she really wants. The second person is “In Alignment”.
This happens all the time in Business. I see people going into, Well, WHATEVER. They don’t have a clear idea, objective, ideas, or IDEALS of what they want, and how it will serve them. And, they end up with a Whatever Business. Like a windy river it eventually runs out.
Business owners that take the time for introspection and alignment are a force to be reckoned with. They know what they want, how they will get it, and what aspects of it they will do and what they will outsource. They know who they want to work with, and why.
