I Spent the Day in Bed with Lady Gaga…and it was one of the best days I’ve ever had. I’d heard of Lady Gaga, and also know some of her songs. But I assumed she was just some typical blonde ditzy rock star—man was I wrong. I came across this interview and literally spent the day in bed watching it, pulling quotes, and listening to her riveting stories. She’s incredibly talented, has got a great head on her shoulders for business, and has an amazing outlook on life.
Be Yourself
But what I enjoyed the most is her incredible drive to be exactly who she is, no matter what.
I think this is one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen, and it really is worth watching. It is a great reminder to do what you love, make a life of following your passions, and go out to the world and show it what you’ve got!
So, pull your laptop in, get comfy, and spend the day in bed with Gaga… or, at least an hour.
Here are some quotes from Lady Gaga that I found really moving & profound…
On Her Childhood
“Being bullied never really goes away.”
On Being Who You Are
“I was born this way. This is who I am… This is who the Fuck I Am.”
On Creativity
“My whole life is a performance piece, so I don’t need to have my picture taken to feel like I’m in a moment of art.”
On Art
“Getting my photo taken is not makes me feel like I’m an artist. Being in front of 50,000 fans screaming, ‘I was born this way, baby’, that’s why I’m here.”
On Fans
“My Fans Make Me Brave, And Then I Make Them Brave.”
On Regrets
“Don’t obsess about the things you didn’t do or the things that you may have not done your best. Obsess about the future, obsess about today. Think endlessly about how you can pull your Inner Queen, or King out of yourself and let that superstar shine.”
On Fame
“I don’t believe that fame is attainable I believe that its inside of you. It’s not something you can touch, it’s not tangible.”
The Best Advice She Ever Received
“If you don’t have any shadows, you’re not standing in the light.”
And, My Personal Favorite Gaga Quote
“Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you’re wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn’t love you anymore.”
