Being knowledgeable about your destination and the visa rules that apply are imperative to your success as a traveler. However, there are different rules for each country, and there are varying rules between what the government websites say, and what the true experience is.
Find out the reality from the local expats and determine what you will need to get a visa for the length of your stay. Also, you’ll want to know about the political environment of where you are staying. Make sure your destination is safe by checking in with the Embassy and determine if the area you’d like to stay is affected by any political unrest before you get the visa or buy your ticket.
